We are an 80 person capacity venue in the centre of Newcastle Upon Tyne, just a couple of minutes walk from Central Station. We host live music of an older, more traditional style on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Think Jazz, Blues, Folk, Americana, Soul, World - that kind of thing.
We regularly host a classic Jazz Jam every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month and a more contemporary Afro Beat, Funk and World jam, The Jam Sandwich, every 2nd Tuesday, while the 4th and, where available, 5th Tuesday of the month and any Thursday are kept open for exclusive gigs.
In general our gigs are free to enter with a "Jar on the Bar" for donations (cash or card) which we split with the artist 70/30 (in your favour), but with an £80 guarantee to the artist - having said that we are happy to discuss ticketed gigs if you feel it suits your situation better.
We also have a 110 person capacity theatre venue that can be hired, so if you're interested feel free to ask about that (if you hire the venue then you have full control over times, ticket prices and you get the full door take).
